Resource & Support Supervisor

Job Purpose

The Resource & Support Supervisors work as a team to support the team of Resource & Support Specialists (RSS) in their role of providing initial and ongoing wraparound services to empower young people to reach their personal goals and career aspirations, and to successfully complete work experiences and/or training. Each Resource & Support Supervisor will supervise 4-6 RSS who will each have caseloads of 80 -115 participants who participate in Y.O.U. programs.  This position is responsible for the oversight of robust case management services that provide consistent replicable approaches to service provision and produce measurable outcomes.  Seasonally, this role trains and supervises a team of (10-12) Job Coaches ensuring they are providing coaching and support to Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) participants and worksite supervisors to increase the likelihood of a successful summer work experience. In addition, this role works with the Resource & Support Specialists, Job Coaches, participants and their families, and Community Partners to oversee enrollment activities and ensure participants are properly enrolled in SYEP and that they complete orientation training as required. This position also ensures that Y.O.U. is fulfilling our contract requirements by ensuring all RSS and seasonal Job Coaches are accurately and thoroughly documenting service provision to youth. This multi-faceted role is highly visible in the organization and community and will create a lasting impression on youth and young adults in the program.

Essential Functions

• Supervisorial responsibilities of 4-6 Resource & Support Specialists; Provide regular direction, coaching, and training. 
• Train and supervise a team of seasonal staff with direct supervision of 10-12 Job Coaches - providing guidance and mentorship as needed to ensure Job Coaches are visiting worksites regularly to verify youth participants are being properly supervised, labor laws are being followed, and program quality is upheld at the worksite; Make personal visits to worksites as needed.
• Provide supervision and leadership for the RSS team and Job Coach Team, effectively and positively communicating initiatives and motivating team members as needed to enhance outcomes and improve value for teens and young adults; Ensure RSS and Job Coaches are working together to holistically support work experience participants. 
• Use data to monitor and ensure quality case notes, interactions with participants, and outcomes; ensuring that RSS are following well-defined organizational and State-mandated processes in a timely manner; on a seasonal basis, ensure Job Coach case notes and other data points are entered into appropriate data systems in an accurate, timely manner.
• Convene in-person and virtual team meetings to ensure up to date and relevant information is shared on a routine basis and elicit team feedback. 
• Assist the Job Coach and Resource & Support team with all aspects of program enrollment including completion of application paperwork, work permit process, health exams, and employment forms as needed.
• Assist with planning and facilitating SYEP Orientation sessions and other workshops and events for program participants.
• Support the RSS in their efforts to connect with community partners to facilitate engaging Youth Workforce Development Workshops to youth throughout the school year. 
• Serve as the next level of contact when worksite issues cannot be resolved between team-member, worksite supervisor, and/or youth participant. Resolve issues at worksites in such a way that all parties feel supported. Coordinate with the Y.O.U. Employer Relations Team as needed. Provide supportive services, needs assessments, coaching and barrier remediation, as a back-up to RSS, to support RSS efforts to ensure teens and young adults 14-24 years old successfully complete programming and/or attain economic self-sufficiency. 
• Manage the Supportive Service procurement process on behalf of RSS and Job Coaches; Ensure any requested expenses are allowable, are thoroughly vetted to verify need, and are accurately reported to the Finance Department as well documented in all required systems in alignment with the organization’s Supportive Service Policy. 
• Assist in the establishment and maintenance of case files, records, and other required documentation and the preparation of periodic reports.
• When required, obtain and input required client information for data entry into countywide Advancement through Resources, Information & Employment Services (ARIES) system and/or internal data management systems as needed; provide routine oversight of this process for the case management team.
• Be thoroughly familiar with the policies and procedures guiding the work of RSS, summer Job Coaches, and the program or department overall; create and update policies and procedures related to RSS to ensure efficiency and compliance.
• Assist Program Leadership in the execution and achievement of the program model and contract goals.
• Participation in training required by accreditation standards, plus performance and quality improvement efforts.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service training as requested.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work or related field preferred. 
• A High School Diploma or equivalent, plus 6 years’ direct field experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree required.

Requirement

• 2 – 4 years’ experience working as a social worker, case manager, behavioral health specialist, patient advocate/navigator, team lead, or other related experience.
• Must have experience working in a leadership, mentor, or coach role.
• Must have experience working with diverse populations and/or at-risk youth and young adults.
• Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to/from Y.O.U. offices, partner organizations, schools, etc.
• Must pass an FBI/BCI as a condition of employment.

Work Environment

• This position is a hybrid position. Each year from March through mid-August this position will be based in the summer office five days a week. Each year from mid-August through February this position is hybrid which is being scheduled to work in the office 3 days a week and 2 days a week working remote. Regular travel to participant worksites, schools, community partner organizations, and other Y.O.U. offices and satellite locations is required. Flexibility to work some evening and weekend hours. The work pace for this position is sometimes fast paced where work is required for up to 2 hours at a time. Position requires high supervision from managers with intermittent prompts. Social interaction with clients and team members is required frequently.
• The environment in which the job is performed outside a normal office space may include exposure to extreme temperature, noise, heights, or other hazards. All remain the same for any additional requirements for training. 
• When working remotely, must have a workspace free of distractions and background noise (Pets, children, television, radio, etc.)
