POSITION TITLE: Respiratory Therapist (CRT, RRT)
Department: Respiratory Therapy
Mission of Department: To provide quality patient care and improve quality of life.
Purpose of Position: Perform procedures within the scope and conduct of patient care for the Respiratory Care Department under the guidance of a designated staff physician.

Requirements
Additional Responsibilities: Associate must be familiar with the relevant laws and regulations concerning participation in federal health care programs. Associate is responsible for ensuring all departmental activities, especially those activities relating to the claim development and submission process and relationships with other health care providers, are conducted in full compliance with federal and state laws and regulations. To fulfill these job responsibilities, Associate is expected to do the following:
Patient Safety: Scott County Hospital provides an environment which encourages error identification and prevention. Associate is responsible for: 1) ensuring patient safety 2) will report suspected and identified medical/health care errors 3) recognition and reporting of unsafe practices identified in the care of patients, and 4) will educate patient and their family regarding a safe environment.
Education, Qualifications, Experience: Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Therapy program, and passed National Registry Boards. Must be licensed with the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts as a Respiratory Therapist. Must be BLS, ACLS certified, and NRP certification strongly encouraged.

Expectation of Service: This is a non-exempt 32-40 hour per week position. Regular and punctual attendance is required, as well as call shifts.
Physical Requirements: Occasional sitting, frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting/carrying 10-15 pounds; frequent reaching/grasping, twisting, pulling/pushing, occasional exposure to Sharp instruments. Frequent exposure to equipment. Writing in English and regularly utilizing computers.
