Job Description:

Cardiopulmonary Services & Neurodiagnostic-(Respiratory)-The scope of the diagnostic and therapeutic services provided by the Cardiopulmonary & Neurodiagnostic Department will include Respiratory Care Therapies, EKG, Holter Monitor Services, and EEG Studies.

Respiratory Therapist

Full-time, Nights

Job Description:

  • The certified respiratory therapist assesses, treats, and monitors patients with respiratory diseases and conditions. This includes the delivery of medicated and non-medicated therapy as ordered by the provider.
  • Additionally, therapists provide invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilator support for acute respiratory failure.
  • As part of patient assessment and management, the therapist performs diagnostic test procedures.
  • In addition, therapist assists in departmental operations by addicting with quality improvement projects, equipment, and supplies.
  • The certified therapist follows all applicable rules and regulations established by the licensure board depending on the state in which respiratory therapy is practiced.

Job Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Respiratory Care
  • Mandatory certification in respiratory therapy (Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care) or respiratory license (Indiana Professional Licensing Agency) appropriate for facility location
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care
  • Must obtain Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 6 months (therapists working with the neonatal population)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association (AHA) – required within 90 days of hire
