Rest Area Worker

General Description of Duties:  Responsible for the proper upkeep of all buildings/facilities located at the assigned contract as assigned by the Site Supervisor and as outlined in the Scope of Work and the Task and Frequency Chart. This work will be performed in a hands-on fashion. Duties will include;

• Minor maintenance and custodial work as required plus other tasks required by the assigned contract.


• Monitors the custodial operations by cleaning restrooms, tables, and parking lots, including removing debris or clogs from drains; remove nests, cobwebs and graffiti; stock toilet paper, soap and towels.


• Add bacterial/enzyme to vault toilets. 


• Clean and sanitize drinking fountains and reports problems to the Site Supervisor.


• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor.

Transportation may be provided.

Education and Training: 

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required. 


• Five years general work experience preferred.


• Two years custodial experience preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required. 


• Have the ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures.

Other Requirements:  Must be pass background/fingerprint investigation and pre-employment drug screening.  Must possess a valid NM driver’s license and proof of auto liability insurance.  Must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly, and be able to remain on feet for most of the workday, and be able to climb ladders for cleaning purposes. Pay from: $16.00 per hour.
