Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our team at our new Valparaiso, In. location!
In this role, you’ll be responsible for a scratch kitchen, creating upscale, innovative menus for our discerning clientele.  The ideal candidate has a history of demonstrated success in upscale restaurants, along with a strong business acumen.  If you are ready to be a part of a professional hospitality group, with a group of tenured industry colleagues, we would love to meet with you.


Responsibilities: 



  • Strong business and financial acumen 

  • Creates and updates menus, considering cost, customer preferences, and seasonal ingredients. 

  • Manages food and labor costs, including inventory, ordering, and staff schedules, to meet budget targets. 

  • Hires, trains, supervises, motivates and promotes kitchen staff. 

  • Prepares financial reports, analyzes cost trends, and provides insights to management. 

  • Has a "hands on" approach and can facilitate the expo line in an efficient and controlled manner

  • Maintain appropriate levels of inventory and restock when necessary

  • Follow all food safety regulations


Qualifications

  • At least 5 years as a Restaurant Chef or Executive Chef in an upscale environment

  • Demonstrated history of strong business and financial acumen

  • Certification from culinary school preferred

  • Serve Safe or Food Handler’s Certification

  • Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques and recipes

  • Ability to remain calm and thrive under pressure

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Strong leadership skills
