Indaco Charleston

Located on Charleston’s Upper King Street, Indaco (Italian for “indigo”) serves regional Italian cuisine. Wood-fired pizzas and hand-crafted pastas fill the restaurant’s menu which can be enjoyed family-style or a la carte. With community tables, an open kitchen, and a comfortable atmosphere, Indaco can accommodate 100 guests for a casual night of food and drinks. The wine list is focused on Italian varietals, the Negroni cocktail is on tap, and the fresh sodas are made in-house.

The massive wooden doors on Upper King Street are your first indication that Indaco is different from the typical Charleston restaurant. Rustic details continue inside with butcherblock tables, lime-wash walls, and white brick. An open kitchen with nearby community tables lets interested diners keep an eye on the action inside the kitchen. Outside, a patio puts you streetside to watch Upper King Street’s vibrant nightlife scene.

The Role: Your Leadership, Our Vision.

We're seeking a passionate and experienced Restaurant General Manager with a proven track record of success in high-volume, upscale dining environments (200-300 covers), ideally with a focus on Italian cuisine. You're not just a manager; you're a leader, a mentor, and a community builder.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has 5+ years of experience leading high-volume restaurants, preferably with an Italian focus.
• Is passionate about food and beverage, with a keen eye for quality and a commitment to sourcing the best local ingredients.
• Excels at building and developing teams, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
• Is a strong communicator and problem-solver, capable of navigating challenges and driving results.
• Is eager to engage with the Charleston community, building relationships with local vendors, businesses, and farms.
• Is looking for a change of pace and a chance to make a real impact.

As our Restaurant General Manager, you'll:

• Lead with passion and inspire your team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Nurture staff development and create a positive, high-performing culture.
• Engage with local vendors and farms to source the highest quality products.
• Oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.

Requirements for Success:

• At least 5+ years of successful restaurant management
• Positive, friendly, and enthusiastic mindset with an excellent record of restaurant management
• Ability to communicate effectively with fellow leaders, managers, employees, and all guests
• Strong problem management skills with accuracy in quickly handling emergency situations and providing solutions
• Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays [about 55 to 60 hours a week]
• Ability to constantly stand and walk with occasional stooping, kneeling, ascending, reaching, pushing, pulling, or lifting
