Matthew’s Restaurant is seeking an experienced Service Manager to ensure that guests experience a unique and unforgettable dining experience.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Ensures excellent guest service that exceeds expectations
- Ensures the restaurant is properly staffed to meet guest needs
- Enforces sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of all FOH areas
Employee Management:
- Inspires team members to ensure that excellent guest service is consistently delivered
- Develops team members through training, motivation, and mentorship
- Appraises performance; rewards, coaches and disciplines employees as needed
- Reads and understands Employee Handbook, and all other company policies
- Educates team members on safe work behaviors and maintains an environment that is safe for both guests and team members
- Ensures staff is Food Handler certified within 60 days of hire
Management:
- Supports execution of innovative and creative ideas that drive incremental sales and growth
- Operates the business in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
Operations:
- Upholds standards, product quality and cleanliness of FOH
- Ensures all FOH duties are completed accurately and on time
- Delegation of tasks for all FOH staff
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as manager in a fine dining establishment
- Demonstrates leadership skills including coaching, directing, and motivating a team
- Food Manager Certification
- Wine Knowledge equivalent to Level 1 Sommelier Certification
