Restaurant Supervisor

Join our team! Galloway Ridge is an upscale continuing care retirement community located between Chapel Hill and Pittsboro in Chatham County, NC. We are currently seeking a Restaurant Supervisor to support our Independent Living areas. The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Restaurant Manager with overall operation, coordination, appearance and maintenance of the service staff, dining area and closing duties. The Restaurant Supervisor ensures serving staff is delivering courteous and efficient service. Supervises as necessary to provide an exceptional dining experience for residents and guests.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Assists in the training, supervision and development of employees in accordance with Galloway Ridge policies and procedures.
• Attends all required meetings.
• Checks opening side work.
• Assists staff/managers on floor.
• Completes all closing checklists at the end of night.
• Checks out all staff members at the end of night including closing side work.
• Assists in the cleanliness and physical appearance of dining rooms and service stations.
• Monitors the appearance of tables including linen, napkins, silverware, table setup, etc.
• Assists in monitoring uniforms making sure staff is in the proper attire.
• Helps with events including set-up and breakdown.
• Emails nightly report to “restaurant managers”.

Requirements

• A minimum of six months’ experience in food service operations.
• Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with and be tolerant of residents, families, visitors, peers, managers, directors, and subordinates; professionally deal with difficult situations/people.
• Ability to interpret and explain menus, refer or answer questions, understand the POS system and the point system.
• Meet multiple priorities of business demands; adjust to schedule changes, cover shifts on short notice
• Flexibility to work a variety of hours, varied tasks under varied conditions and ability to change pace as business demands.
