Position Overview: The ReStore Sales Associate plays a critical role in ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience. This role includes not only assisting customers and handling transactions but also overseeing a specific product department (e.g., furniture, appliances, building materials). You’ll be responsible for keeping your assigned department organized, well-stocked, and visually appealing, as well as educating customers on the products and their benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist customers by answering questions, providing product information, and offering friendly, helpful service.
Manage inventory within an assigned product department, ensuring items are clean, well-organized, and displayed attractively.
Develop expertise in your assigned department’s products to assist customers effectively and boost sales.
Collaborate with the ReStore team to organize and maintain general store cleanliness and safety.
Track and monitor inventory levels within your department, noting product needs and reporting shortages.
Support merchandising efforts to maximize customer interest and sales.
Assist with loading and unloading of donations, which may involve lifting heavy items.
Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Retail or customer service experience; familiarity with ReStore product types (furniture, building materials, home goods) is a plus.
Excellent communication skills and a friendly, helpful attitude.
Ability to lift and move items up to 80 lbs.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized.
Basic math skills.
Ability to work independently within your department while being a collaborative team player.
Clean criminal background check
Willingness to work with volunteers
Desire to work with diverse staff and customer base
