Job Description:
DUTIES
*This position reports to the Assistant Deputy Director - Classification and works closely with the Deputy Director - Prison Operations to oversee the development and implementation of NDCS restrictive housing policies, procedures, and programming.
*Review all cases submitted to the Multi-Disciplinary Review Team (MDRT), attend and serve as the recorder for MDRT meetings, provides feedback to facility staff and processes MDRT dispositions. Draft and submit restrictive housing updates and reports showing trends in placements, releases, length of stay and MDRT decision making.
*Track restrictive housing placements, reviews and alternative placements. Serve as quality control inspector for all restrictive housing units and to facility practice as needed. Develop and provide specialized training to all levels of facility management and staff working in restrictive housing.
*Conduct on-site facility visits to monitor daily activities, program delivery and frequency, compliance with policy, and recommend changes.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, behavioral science, human services or related field, plus two years' corrections experience; OR Associates degree in criminal justice, behavioral science, human services or related field plus four years' experience; OR six years corrections experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field. At least two years' experience in institutional operations; experience in planning and organizing, research and training development and delivery. Experience working in a restrictive housing setting. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Proficient experience using Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.
Other: Must have a valid driver's license. Transcripts required prior to appointment. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam, and at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
