Retail Associate

Description

The Retail Associate sells gifts, merch, and books to guests visiting the CAC. Strong customer service skills in tandem with a passion for Chicago, will serve visitors from all over the world as guests come to discover why design matters. This position must embody CAC's Core Values and Guest Service Standards as they are the face and voice of the organization.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

•  Sell CAC products, Chicago-centric gifts, and architecture books to guests
•  Provide excellent customer service to guests from all over the world as they shop for souvenirs and gifts
•  Learn about CAC offerings to ensure knowledgeable answers to guest inquiries
•  Master POS system to assist customers and co-workers quickly and efficiently
•  Keep store neat, clean and stocked
•  Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge or Expertise:

•  Prompt, courteous, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and consistent customer service demeanor
•  Detail oriented, ability to prioritize and multi-task, good decision-making skills, maintain a calm demeanor under pressure
•  Work successfully in team environments
•  Contributes to meeting sales goals
•  Maintain good working relationships with the public, CAC members, employees, docents, and volunteers
•  Follow all policies and procedures outlined by the Chicago Architecture Center
•  Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time

Qualifications

•  Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
•  High level of comfort with technology is required
•  Previous work in a retail environment
•  Experience with cash handling required
•  Strong familiarity with Chicago a plus
