Our Opportunity

Richelieu is currently seeking a

Retail Business Development Manager

to take responsibility for growing our retail business throughout the Midwest portion of the United States. Our preference is that the candidate lives in a location with access to a major airport, as this position will require up to 30% overnight travel.

Primary responsibility will be selling to hardware dealers and distributors in this territory.

Key Responsibilities The Retail Business Development Manager is responsible for the overall relationship and management of day-to-day sales activities towards

retailers, distributors, and buying groups

across the United States. You will successfully manage the sales of Richelieu product solutions through structured consultative sales discussions, ultimately serving as a business advisor towards your customers. By positioning yourself as an indispensable resource, you will enable your customers to solve problems and increase business results. In turn, you will be building a thriving business of your own.Schedule and hold both virtual and face-to-face meetings with new and existing customers, learning about their business and how Richelieu product solutions can enhance their resultsMaintain accountability for the growth of the region, both through new customer acquisition as well as the development of existing relationshipsIdentify and analyze past buying patterns of current accounts, and brainstorm ways to become their stronger, more inclusive supplierEducate yourself on, and continuously stay up to date with, Richelieu's product offerings as well as ever-changing market conditions and competitive analysisWhat We Are Looking For

Successful business development experience towards retailers in the home improvement segment (building materials, construction, etc.)Passionate and proactive, with the ability to be both a "hunter" of new relationships and a "farmer" to develop existing retail customersAbility to schedule and manage your own time, arranging both in-person visits and virtual meetings/communications to continuously deepen our customer relatoinships and presence in the retail segment of our building materials industryExceptional communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to travel as required, up to 30%College degree is preferred but not required; a combination of education and experience will be consideredCompensation and Benefits
