Job Summary
The Retail Sales Associate obtains or receives merchandise, totals bill, accepts payment, and makes change for internal or external guests in a retail store.
Job Description
• Tags and reorganizes merchandise.
• Monitors and maintains inventory stock on the store floor by replenishing and arranging merchandises, and rotating consumable merchandise.
• Processes internal orders and maintains inventory in the stock room.
• Receives merchandise and properly processes PO’s.
• Sets up promotional material and displays.
• Performs point-of-sale register transactions efficiently and accurately. Ensures items are priced correctly, discounts are processed appropriately, payments are received and exchanged correctly, and items are wrapped and bagged for guests.
• Maintains a neat and tidy store and stock room by cleaning shelves, counters, tables, vacuuming and removing trash at the end of the day.
• Removes cash from the register and drop off at the Main Bank or the recycler at the end of the shift.
• Performs opening and closing procedures to ensure that the store opens/closes on-time.
• Performs clerical duties such as answering the phone, completing damage, open item and stamp sales logs.
• Reads departmental memos and stays current on various casino and VOC events and promotions to respond to guest inquiries.
• Maintains knowledge of store products’ specifications and information.
• Maintains consistent attendance and punctuality, and appearance that contribute to a high level of team performance and guest service.
• Ensures a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment is maintained.
• Adheres to all company and department policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Does not provide supervision to other team members.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED). • California Responsible Beverage Service Training required upon hire.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Ability to work in a professional high-pressure environment while demonstrating and maintaining good personal relation/people skills and a positive attitude.
• Ability to multitask and work well under stress.
• Must be a self-starter and able to adjust to change.
• Must be able to work flexible hours during the day or evening including weekends, holidays, and all blackout dates.
• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent guest service skills.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Cash register skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized, values teamwork, and self-motivated.
