Retail Shop Manager

Overview of Position: The Retail Shop at Windham Mountain Club is a multi-seasonal specialty retailer that carries a vast selection of equipment, clothing, and accessories for a variety of outdoor activities. We have relationships with 100+ vendors and brands. The Retail Shop Manager is responsible for daily operations and administration as well as merchandising and assistance with purchasing. This position will play a key role in the growth of year-round retail environment by introducing new luxury brands and partnerships.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of The Shop.
• Prepare and manage budgets for retail operations.
• Schedule staff according to anticipated business needs.
• Process invoices, credits, and warranty items.
• Regularly communicate with vendors to keep accounts in good standing.
• Coordinate training of staff in brand reps, daily job duties, and general knowledge of Windham Mountain Club products and programs.
• Monitor and control on-hand inventory levels.
• Assist with ordering and stocking inventory.
• Serve as point of contact for product representatives and manufacturers.
• Assist the Director with general admin and other tasks as needed.
• Maintain regular presence on the sales floor, interacting with members and guests.
• Perform sales associate duties as needed.
• Coordinate travel to industry shows. 
• Handle any customer issues or complaints promptly and appropriately.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance, adhering to dress code at all times.

Work Schedule and Conditions: We are in the business of providing a premier product and guest experience. Traditionally our busy periods are weekends and holidays, which you will be expected to work. You can also expect to be asked to work extra hours or days on occasion, especially during the holiday periods. 

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Retail Management or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, COGS and inventory management.
• Possess knowledge and experience in luxury home goods, athleisure and accessories.
• Possess knowledge of ski/snowboard soft goods, hard goods, accessories, and service highly preferred.
• Experience in merchandising and retail displays.
• Demonstrated experience managing teams in a luxury retail environment. 
• Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office. RTP experience preferred.
• Possess knowledge of business and accounting principles.
• Must be comfortable interacting with both staff and guests in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Must be able to handle a stressful, noisy, and crowded work environment.
• Must be reliable, results-driven, and willing to learn.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours.
• Ability to stand and walk on uneven terrain, including snow and ice covered surfaces.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
• Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach regularly.
