Retail Store Manager - Baske - Opening July 2025

About the Position:

Baske is hiring! We are looking for a full-time Store Manager to oversee the daily operations in our soon-to-open Portland, Maine location. Nestled in the heart of Portland’s historic Old Port, Baske is a home store founded by Angie and John Foddrill, the owners of women’s clothing store Bliss and children’s boutique Little. 

 

The ideal candidate would have experience in retail management with a proven track record motivating and overseeing staff members. A love of homewares and customer service are key–we are proud of the brands we carry, and we love working with customers to make their homes unique reflections of themselves. Working harmoniously as a team is essential, as is making everyone who enters the store feel comfortable and welcome. We are a self-motivated, team-oriented group, and are looking forward to meeting our newest addition.

Responsibilities:

• Open & Close Store
• Train, supervise, and schedule Retail Sales Associates
• Create and foster a positive work environment for entire team
• Motivate Sales Associates to meet sales targets
• Engage and connect with customers
• Address customer complaints and issues in a professional manner
• Creating and maintaining store policies & procedures
• Inventory Management
• Store Merchandising

• Weekend Availability (preferable Saturday & Sunday), Including Holidays

• Minimum 3-5 Years Retail Experience Required
• Management Experience Required

Compensation & Benefits:

• Dependent on Experience, starting at $50,000/year
