Job Description - Retirement Plan Specialist

We are a growing Professional Employer Organization (PEO) dedicated to delivering high value solutions that help our clients attract, retain, and support their employees. Our comprehensive offering includes payroll, HR, benefits, and retirement services, all designed to provide a competitive and seamless experience for both employers and their worksite employees. As we continue to expand our retirement services, we are seeking a knowledgeable and client focused Retirement Plan Specialist to support our growing plan and client base. 


Position Summary 

The Retirement Plan Specialist plays a key role in the success of our retirement plan offering. This individual serves as a trusted resource to both clients and plan participants, supporting plan design, implementation, ongoing administration, and employee education across multiple worksite locations.  

This is not an investment advisory role. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in retirement plan best practices, comfortable presenting to diverse audiences, and thrives in a consultative, service oriented environment. 

 


Key Responsibilities 

Client Support & Consultation 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client communications related to retirement plans. 
  • Consult with clients on plan design options to meet their unique business needs while remaining compliant and competitive. 
  • Partner with internal payroll, HR, and benefits teams to ensure smooth plan implementation and ongoing coordination. 

Plan Implementation & Administration 

  • Oversee onboarding and implementation of retirement plans for new clients and worksite locations. 
  • Support ongoing plan administration, including eligibility, contributions, distributions, and compliance support. 
  • Assist with coordination of testing, reporting, and audits as required. 
  • Ensure accurate data flow between payroll systems, recordkeepers, and other vendors. 

Employee Education & Engagement 

  • Conduct employee education meetings and enrollment sessions, both virtually and in person. 
  • Explain plan features, investment options, and retirement concepts in a clear and approachable manner. 
  • Serve as a resource for employee questions related to participation, contributions, loans, and distributions. 

Industry Expertise & Continuous Improvement 

  • Stay current on retirement plan trends, regulatory updates, and industry best practices. 
  • Identify opportunities to enhance plan offerings, education strategies, and client experience. 
  • Support internal training and knowledge sharing related to retirement services. 
  • Assist in developing educational materials and presentation content 

Important Role Boundaries 

  • This position does not provide individualized investment advice 
  • All communication must follow company guidelines and compliance standards 
  • The role focuses on education and support, not fiduciary decision-making 
  • Travel required, including occasional overnights. 


Qualifications 

Required 

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills/charismatic personality.  
  • Ability and desire to learn complex topics. 
  • Willingness to gain a strong understanding of retirement plan design, administration, and compliance concepts. 
  • Comfortable learning to conduct employee education meetings and communicating complex topics clearly. 
  • High level of professionalism with strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities in a fast paced environment. 

Preferred 

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Experience within a PEO, payroll, benefits administration, or financial services environment. 
  • Experience working with multiple worksite locations under a single plan. 
  • Series 7 or 65 licensure

 What We Offer 

  • Base salary of $90,000 - $100,000 DOE, competitive benefits package
