Description

Events DC seeks a casual Retirement Plan Specialist professional to support the administration of the organization’s retirement plans. The incumbent will assist in providing oversight for 401(a) and 457(b) plan administration, review and support the implementation of SECURE 2.0 provisions, collaborate with Events DC’s retirement vendor on communication and engagement strategies, monitor vendor performance, and assist with the implementation of automated file feeds. This position works under the direction of the Deputy HR Operations Officer and is scheduled on an as needed basis according to business need.



Responsibilities

A.  Plan Administration



  • Ensure accurate administration of the 401(a) and 457(b) retirement plans, including compliance with plan documents and regulatory requirements.

  • Review plan design, funding, and eligibility processes to identify any necessary adjustments or process improvements.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for retirement plan inquiries, providing guidance to internal stakeholders.


B.  SECURE 2.0 Review and Implementation



  • Conduct a comprehensive review of SECURE 2.0 provisions and assess their impact on Events DC’s retirement plans.

  • Develop an implementation plan to align with legislative requirements, including potential changes to eligibility, contribution limits, and required distributions.

  • Work with the legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to new regulations.


C. Retirement Vendor Collaboration – Communication and Engagement Strategies



  • Collaborate with Events DC’s retirement plan vendor to enhance participant communication and engagement.

  • Develop and implement employee education initiatives, including workshops, webinars, and digital resources.

  • Evaluate and improve existing communication materials to ensure clarity and effectiveness.


D.  Vendor Performance Monitoring



  • Regularly review and assess vendor performance, ensuring alignment with service level agreements (SLAs).

  • Address service-related concerns and recommend enhancements where necessary.

  • Attend quarterly performance meetings with the vendor to track progress and resolve outstanding issues.


E. Automated File Feed Implementation



  • Work with Events DC’s internal teams and retirement vendor to implement automated file feeds for seamless data transmission.

  • Work with internal and external IT partners to ensure accurate and timely file exchanges between Events DC and the vendor.

  • Test and validate file feeds to confirm data integrity and compliance.



Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in retirement plan administration, including 401(a) and 457(b) plans.

  • Strong knowledge of SECURE 2.0 legislation and its impact on retirement plans.

  • Expertise in vendor management, employee benefits communication, and engagement strategies.

  • Experience with file feed implementation for retirement plan contributions.
