Job Description - Retirement Planning Coordinator

Overview

The Human Resources Benefits team has a need for a temporary assignment for a Retirement Planning Coordinator to support the following functions:

  • Support and coordinate efforts between third party vendors to research lost and missing 403(b) plan participant. 

  • Support audit work of on-demand funding process. 

  • Reconcile and monitor 403(b) benefit calculations.  Navigate through multiple systems and reporting tools to examine and resolve discrepancies.

  • Research participants through Yale records, Social Security, internet and vendor records. 

  • Efforts to include outreach to departments, colleagues, social media, etc. 

  • Outreach to include emails, letters, mail merges and direct phone calls.

  • Manage efforts to correct bad addresses, particularly work locations.

  • Provide other project support and analysis as needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Required Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with vendors, Employee Services, and lost participants.

  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel and MS Word

  • Excellent reporting and analytical skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.



Preferred Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Workday payroll and benefits system.

  • Retirement Plan Administration.

Principal Responsibilities

1. Takes a lead role in the planning of HR projects, programs, and/or initiatives. 2. Defines HR project, program, and/or initiative goals, develops progress reports, and communicates results. 3. Develops metrics and conducts a comprehensive analysis of HR project, program, and/or initiative data. 4. Conducts research and contributes to the design and development of HR project, program, and/or initiative. 5. Responsible for implementation and supporting resources of HR project, program and/or initiative. 6. Evaluates content of the project, program, and/or initiative and related policies, practices and procedures to determine and recommend necessary improvements. 7. Develops training curriculum for HR projects, programs, and/or initiatives and delivers training programs and workshops for members of the Yale community. 8. Develops written communications and systems to support and track project, program, and/or initiative activity. 9. Provides day-to-day guidance regarding, best practices, technical issues and compliance regulation. 10. May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

Minimum requirement of Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field and two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
