Brian Cox Mechanical, Inc. (BCM), an industry leading HVAC contractor headquartered in Poway California, is looking for an experienced Retrofit Superintendent. The purpose of this position is to provide leadership, support, and train the Retrofit field personnel who work on BCM projects.
Duties include, but not limited to:
1. Responsible for all field personnel. Leads are direct reports to the Superintendent.
2. Hiring
- Employment Applications – Compile and review all employment applications that have been submitted for the field within the Retrofit Department.
- Interview – Set up interviews after reviewing applications.
- Onboarding – Work with HR to assist with the hiring process.
3. Termination – Unfortunately at times, terminations are needed, and you will assist HR with this process.
4. Employee Reviews – Perform employee at least yearly
5. Motivation – Demonstrate leadership skills and portray a positive and professional manner.
6. Manage and Plan Manpower project hours – Track and work with PMs to staff projects properly and within budget.
7. Develop Field Team – Having the right mix of experience Journeyman, Leads, and Apprentice, is important to the develop of the Retro team and project budgets.
8. QC – Along with the PM, do regular project walks to ensure installation are being completed up to BCM standards, per plans & specs, and job sites are clean & safe.
9. Daily Reports – Manage and ensure that Leads turn in Daily reports to the Super and PM daily.
10. Field Tools – Be aware and get the tools needed for the field team so they can perform their daily tasks safely and efficiently. Track and be aware of field tools as they transfer from project and trucks.
11. Safety – During job walks, ensure that the field team is working safely and is always wearing the required PPE. Also, the field team is aware of all JHAs required per BCM standards and the job site standards.
Meetings:
1. Project Turn-Over meetings – Get details and have conversations about the new projects.
2. Weekly PM Meetings - providing input related to manpower, estimating, productivity report, job schedule, manpower look-aheads, safety, and tools
3. Safety Committee meetings – Attend monthly safety meeting.
4. Superintendent Meeting – Attend Bi-weekly Superintendent meetings to review current and up and coming projects and related manpower needs
