Job Description - Revenue Collections Attendant (Night FT)

Hampton Roads Transit is looking for dynamic, customer service oriented, and energetic people to become part of a committed team providing excellent and effective public transportation to the Hampton Roads region. Hourly Wage: $15.01 plus $3 per hour night differential for hours worked between 8:00 pm - 6:00 am

Essential Job Functions:

(Duties listed are not intended to be all inclusive nor to limit duties that might reasonably be assigned.)

  • Removes vaults from revenue vehicles and deposits contents into receiver; replaces empty vault into vehicles.

  • Records the number of all vehicles attended.

  • Attaches probe for removal of data from each farebox.

  • Maintains security of the Cashier’s Office during hours of responsibility.

  • Manage records created and received in compliance with the Hampton Roads Transit Records Management Policy and Procedures.

  • Responsible for maintaining a general awareness of HRT’s Safety and Security Plan.

  • Responsible for handling all related job responsibilities in accordance with HRT’s Environmental Policy, relevant Safety and Security Procedures, Emergency Management Plan, and all HRT’s Policies.

  • Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect oneself, fellow employees, and the public from injury or harm.

  • Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures and policies.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Assigned Reporting Locations: Norfolk, Hampton, and Virginia Beach. Must be available to work all locations.

  • Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect oneself, fellow employees, and the public from injury or harm.

  • Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures and policies.

Required Knowledge, Abilities and Skills essential to Job Functions:

Knowledge of basic math. Ability to interact effectively with TDCHR managers and staff and with representatives of outlets.

Required Software Knowledge and Skills essential to Job Functions:

Proficiency in using computer systems and the listed software applications associated with performance of assigned work is essential. Basic problem-solving skills associated with software applications used is expected. Software usage relevant to job duties will be evaluated.

Safety Responsibility:

Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect one’s self, fellow employees, and the public from injury or harm. Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures and policies. Take an active part in reporting unsafe conditions and any hazards within the workplace to their Supervisor, Manager and/or the Safety Department.

Qualifications:

Training and/or Education:

Possession of a high school diploma or GED certificate.

Required Experience:

One year of working experience.

Licenses or Certificates:

Possess a valid Driver's License. Acquire a Virginia Driver's License within 60 days after the date of hire (in instances when an out of state license is not the applicant's current state of residence).

Special Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass federal government background screening process for local military installation access

  • This position is classified as essential personnel.
