The Position:

The Revenue Cycle Support Specialist plays a key role in supporting revenue cycle operations by managing documentation, coordinating medical records requests, and ensuring accurate processing of administrative tasks. This role is essential for maintaining organized financial workflows, improving efficiency, and enhancing communication between departments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and possesses strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Process incoming requests for medical records from patients, providers, and third parties.
  • Verify authorization forms for compliance with HIPAA regulations before releasing medical records.
  • Retrieve and compile requested medical records from the EHR system or physical files.
  • Scan and upload documents, including superbills and correspondence, into the document management system.
  • Ensure accurate labeling and organization of records for easy retrieval.
  • Coordinate with medical billers to ensure documentation supports billing processes.
  • Open and sort incoming mail, ensuring proper categorization and distribution.
  • Work closely with internal teams to address missing or incomplete documentation.
  • Maintain accurate logs of medical record requests, superbill processing, and other administrative functions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency in document management.

Requirements

Performance/Skills Requirements:

  • Medical Records & Documentation Expertise: Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and medical records handling.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to maintain accurate records and manage multiple requests efficiently.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with EHR systems and document management software.
  • Communication Excellence: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot documentation issues and streamline processes.

Education/Certifications/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in a clerical, administrative, or healthcare role preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical billing processes and terminology is a plus.
  • Experience with NextGen is preferred.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance requirements.

Additional Job Details:

  • This is a Full-Time position. 
  • Compensation for this role will be $18.89 - $21.99 based on experience.
  • This position will be on site at Denver Eye Surgeons:  13772 Denver West Parkway, Lakewood, CO 80401
