In this role, you will serve as a crucial expert in maximizing insurance reimbursements, ensuring that hospitals and healthcare providers receive the payments they are due. You will analyze contractual variances, identify trends in underpayments, and visit innovative solutions to improve the revenue cycle process. Your efforts will contribute significantly to maintaining healthy communities by supporting the financial health of healthcare providers. This position is essential for fostering collaboration across various teams and driving operational excellence.
Accountabilities
- Communicate directly with payors to follow up on outstanding underpayments and resolve discrepancies.
- Identify root causes of underpayments and work with client teams to address these issues.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of state and federal insurance regulations.
- Document all activity accurately in the appropriate tracking systems.
- Demonstrate initiative by communicating trends and issues to management.
- Compile and analyze data to identify underpayments and report findings to leadership.
- Collaborate with departments including Managed Care, Billing, Coding, and Revenue Integrity.
- Manage multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced, KPI-driven atmosphere.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of experience in the hospital or physician insurance industry.
- Proven understanding of the revenue cycle and identification of underpaid accounts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to different client host systems.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
