The purpose of the position of Rewind Operator is to provide efficient output of finished rolls, produced to specifications, and that is performed in accordance with manufacturing schedules.                                                     
The ultimate goal of this position is to provide high-quality finished rolls, with accurate and appropriate identification, to each Customer.     

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Finishing Dept. consists of three rewinders, one slitter, and one tabletop rewinder. The Press Dept provides rolls of labels. Under the direction of the Finishing Supervisor, the rewinder is properly set up to produce finished rolls of labels. The Rewind Operator is responsible for all facets of operations on the machine assigned to them, ensuring that all aspects of product quality are adhered to.
The Rewind Operator is responsible for communicating job status, supply needs, and any quality issues to the Finishing Supervisor.                                                        

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Review job/order specifications to determine all aspects (quantity, unwind, special requirements, etc.) needed to make the job ready and run it are on hand (This is performed using the job ticket).
• Detect and remove all quality issues; mark and identify finished rolls with questionable quality issues in accordance with work instructions.
• Complete the Finishing Production Report, ensuring all information is accurate and complete, including noting any issues or waste involved in the shift's production.
• Complete inspection, checks, and review of work-in-progress (WIP) and finished work. Communicate issues to the Finishing Supervisor and/or Management.
