Job Description - Rewinder


Makes ready and operates an inline press by performing the following duties.   Operates table top rewinder and can help run large jobs that don’t require set-up. 

  •  Using the job jacket, verifies core size, and number of labels per roll. 
  • Sets-up and adjust rewinder to obtain best speeds without breaking label or take-up reels. 
  • Performs in process quality checks on large jobs as required by department procedures. 
  • Records count of run, to log on the job jacket. 
  • Rewinds extra labels when available to produce overs. 
  • At end of shift operator cleans area and informs supervisor of any mechanical or material problems that caused issues during the day. 

Requirements

 

  • High school degree or general education (GED); three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence. 
  • Ability to write simple correspondence. 
  • Ability to communicate one-on-one with other employees. 
  • Skill to complete basic math skills; add, subtract, etc. 
  • Skill to apply common sense understanding to carry work details. 
  • Skill and ability with problems involving material and ink needed to produce job. 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and stoop; use hands and arms to reach, handle or feel and talk or hear.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.   The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The noise level is usually moderate.
