The Right of Way Appraiser II position performs real estate valuations for the Agency of Transportation. An ideal candidate will have previous experience with right of way appraisals for federal aid transportation projects. The candidate must have a valid Certified Residential Real Estate Appraisal License, with a Certified General Real Estate Appraisal License preferred.

Work is performed in both a standard office setting and in the field involving significant interaction with property owners and local officials. Differences of opinion will occur, and considerable human relations skills are needed to deal fairly and impartially with irate landowners, professional colleagues and others. Assignments will include travel throughout the state for which private means of transportation is expected if State vehicles are unavailable. Some evening and overnight work is required. Work in all types of weather conditions may be necessary.
Certified Residential Real Estate Appraisal license in Vermont AND two (2) or more years of experience as a real estate appraiser.
Associate’s degree in relevant field of study.
Must maintain certification as part of employment.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
