Category Management Travel 25% Job Description ORC is seeking a full-time, exempt Right of Way Assistant Project Manager to work on projects in North Carolina and South Carolina. Candidate must live within an hour commute from Charlotte, NC. This rolewill have the flexibility to work from home but must be able to report to the Charlotte, NC office at least oncea week. What you will be doing: As our Assistant Right of Way Project Manager, will assist with managing complex federally funded, Public Sector Right-of-Way projects. You will perform task work to include but not limited to acquisition/relocation activities. You'll work alongside the Project Manager (PM), our amazing clients and other members of the Right of Way team to make sure their projects are executed seamlessly, from start to finish. From ensuring the right scope of work is in place to tracking and monitoring the project budget and financial requirements, you'll have your hands in every part of the project lifecycle. But that's not all! You'll also be building relationships with key vendors and agencies, pursuing new business development opportunities, and supporting our recruiting efforts. As the day-to-day manager of the project, you'll be responsible for keeping us on track, from timely project reporting to sending invoices to our clients. And if that weren't enough, you'll also be managing our team of direct reports, making sure everyone is performing at their best and ensuring the project stays on schedule. We are looking for someone who: Has the ability to successfully manage a project team.
Provide quality feedback and coaching to staff. Able to properly delegate to ensure the success of the project.
Can work efficiently and effectively under tight deadlines, as well as balance multiple projects by prioritizing effectively. Is approachable, responsive and good interacting with diverse groups of people. Is responsible anddemonstratesorganizational, planning, and prioritization skills. Is a critical thinker, problem solver, and strong attention to detail. Supports andrecommends department or companywide changes. License must be hung with ORC*
Must be familiar with and have project experience utilizing the Uniform Act guidelines. Prior experience with creating/maintaining project schedules. Must be proficient with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook Must be able to upload and edit documents in a shared online database, such as Dropbox or equivalent Must have an iOS or Android smartphone to be able to access ORC's systems Valid Driver’s License Preferred Requirements ORC is one of the nation's oldest firms providing land acquisition, relocation and program management services for infrastructure projects. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to clearly communicate and exchange information in person, via phone and email. Substantial repetitive movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers due to high amounts of computer usage and typing. Expected to spend long spans of time in front of a computer screen. Able to read, understand and interpret department related documents and data. Able to make quick decisions, present to staff and clients, have difficult conversations and supervise staff. The employee is required to move about inside the office to access files, office equipment and to interact with other members of the staff. This role requires the employee to travel regularly to meet with clients or vendors which involves time driving; sometimes for long durations. While meeting with clients and vendors, will need to be outdoors traversing different types of landscapes. May be exposed to the elements (heat, rain, snow, cold).
