Compensation: $2K per week. Please note that there will be two 2-week unpaid company hiatus periods in 2026. Those periods will be 8/17/2026 - 8/28/2026 and 12/21/26 - 1/1/26.
Freelance: This is a freelance position with the potential to become salaried full-time in 2027. If that happens, compensation would switch to annual and will be discussed.

Location: Hybrid Remote in Los Angeles. In-person team meetings in Burbank once per month. ABOUT THE POSITION
The Rights and Legal Coordinator supports the drafting, negotiation, redlining, sending, execution, tracking, and storage of all contracts across the company. This role interfaces with the Dropout’s legal counsel and key project stakeholders to ensure that contracts across all departments are accurately prepared, executed, and tracked.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and interested in entertainment rights, law, and deal administration.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with Dropout’s lawyers to draft, revise, route, and track a variety of agreements, including but not limited to talent agreements, crew agreements, development agreements, licensing agreements, stock asset agreements, production services agreements, and union agreements.
Maintain Dropout’s library of ever-evolving template contracts.
Route “unique” contacts through Dropout’s internal tracking system.
Monitor contract execution statuses and follow up with internal stakeholders and external representatives to obtain signatures and required documentation.
Track key contractual obligations, payment triggers, option dates, renewal periods, and other critical deadlines.
Ensure all deals comply with Dropout’s internal guidelines, flagging when contractual points contradict set standards.
Check and ensure that each production has appropriate contracts for any and all contributors, unions, stock assets, and vendors, working with producers to correct missing paperwork and noting any discrepancies or limitations of rights in Dropout’s metadata.
Prepare documentation necessary for prop union clearance and insurance coverage.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
At least 3 years of experience in this field.
Excellent written communication skills.
Ability to review complex documents and legalese, ensuring all information is correct and compliant.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Understanding of contract law and legal compliance issues related to media production specifically.
Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with Docusign
Knowledge of SAG-AFTRA, WGA,and other entertainment union agreements.
