Position Overview:

Deliver specialized nursing care in a dynamic vascular surgery ambulatory clinic, supporting preoperative and postoperative patient management while collaborating with surgical teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct preoperative assessments and postoperative evaluations
• Educate patients on surgical procedures and recovery protocols
• Coordinate care with vascular surgeons and multidisciplinary teams
• Manage wound care, medication administration, and complication monitoring
• Document interventions in EPIC EMR per clinic standards

Qualifications:

• Education: Associate’s/Bachelor’s in Nursing
• Licensure:
• Active NYS RN License
• BLS certification required; must be able to maintain/renew certification as needed.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience (within the past 2 years) in an acute care facility of comparable size and level as Hospital.
• Must have experience in ambulatory and surgical settings, specifically in burn, colorectal, thoracic, general surgery, and trauma.
• Travel nurses will only be considered if they have experience in hospitals of equal or greater size or designated trauma centers.
• Technical Skills: Experience using EPIC Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is preferred.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong communication and patient education skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented ambulatory care environment.
