RN Circulator

An OR/Recovery R.N. is an R.N. who works with increasing independence to set criteria for the quality of patient care, assesses the surgical needs of patients, using specialized knowledge and skills, and anticipates the outcome of Nursing Interventions. He/She participates in surgical procedures on patients of all age groups, pediatric through geriatrics. He/She directs and guides ancillary personnel and other staff members during surgical intervention while maintaining standards of professional nursing practice. Additionally, he/she is responsible for functioning well as a member of the multidisciplinary team. 

• Current licensure in the state of Alabama as a Registered Nurse.
• Twenty four (24) hours of continuing education per two year period.
• Minimum of one year nursing experience, with demonstrated competence.
• Interpersonal skills- including customer relations, grammar, reading, and organizational skills
• Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
•  Physical requirements: Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, lift, balance, sit, kneel, hear, reach, pull, talk, see, turn, carry, push, handle and write. The degree to which any of these is done depends on the job. Trained dexterity and strength to use specialized surgical instruments and assists the surgical team during procedures often requiring strenuous manipulation. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

• Able to make decisions under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and manage stress, anger, potential violence of others appropriately.
