RN - Clinic School Nurse

In collaboration with Ortonville School and Ortonville Area Health Services, we are seeking applications for a Clinic School Nurse. This role involves sharing the school nurse position within Ortonville School, supporting the Trojan Clinic, and being part of the Ortonville Clinic Nursing team.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the emotional, mental, physical, and social health of students from preschool through high school.
• Provide basic health services throughout the school day.
• Manage students with chronic health conditions and disabilities, including administering medication and collaborating with parents and teachers to create and enforce care plans.
• Participate in individualized education plans and support school faculty and staff.

Requirements:

• Strong organizational skills to handle multiple cases throughout the day.
• Flexibility to treat students with varying needs.
• Leadership and critical thinking skills to ensure optimal care for students and patients, and support Trojan Clinic functions.

Hours and Pay:

• Full-time role blending school nurse responsibilities with other nursing duties.
• Includes a comprehensive benefits package, provided qualifying hours are maintained between school nurse duties and other nursing responsibilities within OAHS.
• Hours: 0730-1530 at the school, with a 30-minute lunch break.
• Salary: $30.07 - $42.70

Applicant Criteria:

• Prefer BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing); will consider Associate RN. Must have an active RN license in Minnesota and obtain a South Dakota license within the first 6 months.
• Must obtain a Public Health Certificate if holding a BSN.
• Willingness to obtain School Nurse Licensure.
• CPR Instructor certificate to be obtained within the first 6 months of hire, will teach CPR at both school and OAHS
