Schedule: Night shift, potential 36/48 rotation (alternating weekly shifts)
Contract Length: 13 weeks (with possibility to extend)
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
Weekly Gross Pay: $1,636.00

Job Overview:
We are seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time contract assignment in a correctional facility in Eden, TX. This role requires the delivery of comprehensive nursing care to an incarcerated population and includes emergency response, medication administration, and coordination with medical providers. Candidates must be comfortable working in secure settings and able to adapt to rotating shift schedules.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and execute provider orders
• Assist providers during examinations, treatments, and sick calls
  
• Triage, assess, and document health status of inmates/residents
  
  
• Respond to medical emergencies and perform rescue functions
• Supervise and guide LPNs and unlicensed healthcare staff
• Monitor inpatient hospitalizations and ensure continuity of care
  
• Audit pharmacy use and ensure compliance with all relevant laws
• Maintain accurate documentation and medical records per policy
  
• Educate patients on health topics and maintain safety and cleanliness standards
• Participate in accreditation processes (NCCHC/ACA/JCAHO)
  
• Assist with reporting, chart reviews, and legal case preparation as needed
• Inspect facilities and respond to incidents involving safety or security risks
  

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• Active, unrestricted RN license in Texas
  
• 1+ year of professional nursing experience preferred
• Must be at least 18 years old
  
• Valid drivers license required
• Must reside 70+ miles away from the facility
  
• Must be available to start within 2 weeks
• Must have open availability, including weekends and holidays
  
• No RTO (Requested Time Off) allowed during the assignment
  
  

Preferred:

• Experience in correctional, emergency, or institutional healthcare settings
• Active AHA BLS certification
