RN Hospice Night Nurse

James River Hospice is hiring a dedicated RN On-Call Nurse to support hospice and home health patients in the Richmond, VA area. This after-hours role involves providing symptom management, patient assessments, and coordinating with the care team to ensure timely, high-quality support in the home setting.

Schedule: 7on/7 off

A brief overview of Responsibilities for Hospice Night Nurse:  

• Respond promptly to on-call needs, including symptom management, patient assessments, and crisis intervention


• Conduct initial and follow-up assessments to determine immediate care needs for patients and their families


• Develop and adjust care plans based on real-time clinical evaluations, focusing on comfort and quality of life


• Coordinate care with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, and supervise LPNs and hospice aides as needed


• Provide hands-on care with a focus on pain and symptom relief, offering emotional support to patients and families


• Perform other duties as needed to support patient care

Qualifications of Hospice Night Nurse: 

• Must be a Registered Nurse with a current license to practice nursing in the Commonwealth of Virginia


• At least one year of hospice experience is required.


• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.


• Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable car available for use during work hours.
