Job description:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients; He/She communicates with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies, and abnormal results and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
Qualifications:
Education and Work Experience
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
- Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
- Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Unit Notes
**Telemetry, L/D, Emergency and Critical Care RN's will take a proctored Dysrhythmia Test onsite, day one.
**MUST have experience with ICP monitoring and ventrics**
**HOLIDAY RTO WILL BE CONSIDERED, HOWEVER IT CANNOT BE GUARANTEED**
- Common diagnosis / Types of patients: trauma - travelers must have this experience, neuro-strokes, head injuries, ventriculostomies, ICP monitoring - candidates MUST have experience with ICP monitoring and ventrics if they do not have this experience then they MUST have experience with post-TPA pts
- Additional Notes: candidates must have 2-3 yrs in specialty, previous travel experience preferred, must know ahead of time they will work very hard on this unit, must be open to asking questions or asking for help if needed, unit is fast-paced, must be able to get along well with others, hospital has a very robust interventional radiology program, traveler friendly, ****Absolutely do not send over candidates who have 2 years or less experience and minimal travel experience UNLESS they have excellent past experiences at larger, fast-paced facilities
