RN - Infusion Nurse 18hrs

18 hours/week (7a-4:30p)

Cary Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for an Infusion Nurse to join our Oncology team. The successful applicant will be responsible for the nursing care for infusion suite patients at the Jefferson Cary Cancer Center in a safe, efficient, and compassionate manner. The Cancer Center Infusion Suite Nurse is responsible for performing chemotherapy and infusion administration, patient and family education, symptom management and patient follow-up.

Duties include but are not limited to:

1. Administer care according to established nursing standards and hospital policy.

2. Administer injections, chemotherapy drugs, blood transfusions, hydration and other medications as ordered by physician; all according to current protocol/standards.

3. Demonstrate knowledge and skill in safe handling and disposal of all drugs, including chemotherapy/ biotherapy agents.

4. Maintain a working knowledge of chemotherapy drugs and associated side effects.

5. Demonstrate knowledge in the principles of chemotherapy/biotherapy administration.

6. Demonstrate knowledge and skill in IV Therapy administration and complications.

Requirements

1. Maintains an active RN license

2. Administer care according to established nursing standards and hospital policy.
