RN - Inpatient Surgical Step Down

Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Inpatient Surgical Step Down for a top healthcare client in Roanoke, VA.

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to post-surgical patients transitioning from critical care or operating room environments.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and perform treatments according to physician orders, ensuring proper documentation in EPIC EMR.
• Monitor vital signs, wound healing, pain control, and patient progress to support optimal recovery.
• Educate patients and families on post-surgical care, discharge instructions, and recovery milestones.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant records while adhering to hospital safety and infection prevention standards.
• Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced clinical setting.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or an approved program eligible for Virginia licensure.

Experience

• No prior experience required; new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Certifications/Licenses

• Virginia RN license (or eligibility).
• CPR certification required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP required as applicable within one year of hire.

Skills or Competencies
