**$10,000 Sign-On Bonus to eligible new employees joining UW Medicine** **UW Medical Center-Northwest** has an outstanding opportunity for a **Mid Shift RN Intake Evaluator** to join us in our **new Center for Behavioral Health and Learning.** This is a unique nursing role focused on collecting medical histories and verifying insurance information for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health referrals.
**WORK SCHEDULE**
+ 40 hours per week
+ Evening shifts (3:00pm-11:00pm)

+ Great opportunity for RNs who enjoy the administrative side of healthcare **ABOUT THE CENTER FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND LEARNING** The new **Center for Behavioral Health and Learning** , opening on the UW Medical Center – Northwest campus in 2024, offers an unparalleled opportunity to transform mental health care and to improve mental health care training in our state. Located in NW Seattle, the new facility will feature 75 longer-term adult psychiatry beds, 25 geriatric psychiatry beds, 50 medical/surgical beds focused on patients with psychiatric comorbidities, and a state-of-the-art neuromodulation program. It will also house an interdisciplinary training and workforce development program focused on preparing and supporting the next generation of behavioral health providers for Washington State. (w.edu/projects/behavioral-health-teaching-facility)** **PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Performs patient intakes, evaluations, and assessments
+ Performs clinical screens and verifies insurance information to confirm if patients will benefit from our services
+ Obtains insurance authorizations
+ Works closely with physicians to ensure screened patients meet the requisite medical criteria
+ Oversees patient placement and throughput
+ Fosters clinical excellence and incorporates clinical standards into daily practice
+ Participates in organizational committees, taskforces, and work groups
+ Assists with regulatory survey readiness and completes regular unit assessments utilizing readiness assessment tools
+ Promotes practices and decisions that reduce human error and promote patient safety **REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS**
+ 2 years of acute care nursing experience, which includes nursing experience with behavioral health patients
+ Advanced knowledge of clinical documentation
