RN - Oncology Chemo Certified

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Oncology to join our dedicated healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, support, and education to individuals diagnosed with cancer. This role requires a strong understanding of oncology nursing practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Duties

• Assess and monitor patients' health status, including vital signs and symptoms related to oncology treatments.
• Administer chemotherapy and other medications as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Perform venipuncture and IV insertion for medication administration and hydration therapy.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans, side effects, and coping strategies.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
• Document patient care activities accurately in eClinicalWorks or other electronic health record systems.
• Assist in pediatric oncology cases as needed, utilizing experience with children and pediatrics.
• Participate in hospice palliative medicine initiatives for end-of-life care when applicable.
• Maintain a sterile environment during procedures and adhere to infection control protocols.

Certs Required: BLS, ONCC/ONS

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Experience in oncology nursing or related fields is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in venipuncture and IV infusion techniques is essential.
• Knowledge of dermal fillers is a plus but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with neonatal ventilator management is advantageous for specialized cases.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
• Commitment to providing high-quality patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (07:45 - 16:45)
