We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a surgical environment, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of medical protocols, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status prior to surgery.
Assist in preparing patients for surgical procedures, including administering pre-operative medications and performing necessary medical documentation.
Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals during operations to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Monitor patients' vital signs and respond promptly to any changes in condition during surgery.
Provide post-operative care, including tube feeding management and support for patients with disabilities.
Maintain accurate records of patient care activities, including ICD-9 coding for diagnoses.
Administer botulinum toxin treatments as required by specific surgical protocols.
Utilize medical imaging techniques as needed to assist in surgical planning and execution.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and infection control protocols within the operating room.
Years of Experience: 2 year(s)
Certifications: ACLS*, BLS
Charting System: Epic
Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Proven experience in an operating room setting is preferred.
Strong knowledge of medical documentation practices and familiarity with DME (Durable Medical Equipment).
Ability to work effectively with patients who have disabilities or special needs.
Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Proficient in performing physical examinations and patient assessments.
Familiarity with ICD-9 coding is a plus.
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in nursing practice.
