Hours: M-F 0800-1630
Will be assigned to the Allergy/Immunology Clinic

Required Skills:
1 year of Outpatient RN experience REQUIRED
CA RN License REQUIRED
Advanced nursing assessment and knowledge of medical conditions
Experience in Responding/Managing Medical Emergencies (e.g. anaphylaxis)
Detailed Oriented and Advanced knowledge of medication administration (e.g. dilutions, dosage calculations)

Top 3 Preferred Skills:
Ambulatory/Clinic Experience
Allergy/Immunology Experience
Skin Testing Experience

Top 3- 5 Daily Responsibilities:
Allergy RN Visits – administration of allergy injections and allergy medications
Allergy RN Visits – performing allergy skin test, oral challenge test, IV meds challenge test, etc.
RN Telephone/Message Triage of allergy patients and Care Coordination

Minimum Education: RN School graduate, RN license, BSN

Job Description:

• This position is for a clinical RN in the Internal Medicine clinic for the allergy/immunology specialty.
• The RN will assist with Allergy RN Visits, performing complex administration of injections and medications to patients.
• The RN will assist with performing allergy skin testing, oral challenge testing, IV medication challenge testing, and other allergy/immunology related procedures.
• Serves as a valued member of the allergy/immunology team as the clinical RN to provide guidance to other RNs, LVNs, MAs and other clinical staff.
• Performs complex and varied administrative and clinical assignments.
• Serves as a personal contact for physicians, staff, patients and outside departments in order to address problems, issues or concerns that require attention.
• Able to provide telephone/message triaging for allergy patients. In addition, as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to provide therapeutic care to patients and their families in the outpatient setting, when required.
• Ensures patient’s right to privacy, safety, and confidentiality is maintained.
• Maintains a safe environment in accordance with standards, policies, and safety regulations.
• Ensures compliance with infection control policies. Other duties as assigned.
