Position Summary:
Seeking a dynamic and experienced RN Program Manager to lead and manage its Acute Care, Emergency, and Trauma Services. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing clinical operations, staff development, program quality, and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure the highest level of care for patients across acute, emergency, and trauma settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct daily workflow, staffing, training, and development within the Emergency Room and Acute Care departments
Serve as liaison between the hospital and local EMS and trauma referral centers
Coordinate a multidisciplinary approach to trauma care and emergency preparedness
Monitor and improve the clinical and financial performance of the trauma and acute care programs
Facilitate department staff meetings and QAPI (Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement) programs
Investigate and resolve patient, physician, and staff concerns
Conduct annual staff performance reviews and implement plans for improvement as needed
Analyze patient volumes, quality metrics, and satisfaction scores to drive improvement initiatives
Maintain departmental dashboards and meet performance benchmarks related to People, Service, Quality, Finance, and Leadership
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and state/federal regulations
Provide direct patient care as needed to support department coverage
Qualifications:
Education & Licensure:
Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) required or enrolled in a BSN program with completion within 2 years
Current, unrestricted RN license in Alaska or another U.S. state (must apply for AK license before start date)
Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN) required within 2 years of hire
Clinical competency must be demonstrated within 3 months of hire
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of Emergency Room nursing experience in a similarly sized hospital
23 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred
Required Skills and Competencies:
Deep understanding of trauma, emergency, and acute care nursing practices
Strong leadership, strategic planning, and team management skills
Ability to educate and mentor nursing staff
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
Capacity to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of care
Proficient in planning and analyzing budgets, performance metrics, and staffing needs
Ability to respond effectively in high-stress medical environments
