Job Summary
Provides nursing care for patients receiving Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT) for opioid addiction and is responsible for improving the care of the patient population across health, substance abuse and mental health treatment, promoting patient activation and empowerment for shared decision-making in treatment, and encouraging healthy behaviors, self-management of health, mental health, and substance abuse conditions.
Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities
*Provides safe and effective nursing care to MAT Clinic patients utilizing the nursing process. *Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates individual nursing care, as clinically appropriate. Conducts nursing procedures, therapies, tests, and services, as ordered by members of the medical staff and within scope of training. *Monitors the health status, treatment progress, and medication adherence of MAT patients. Provides direct medical care and support to patients, as well as medical support to buprenorphine prescribers. Duties include patient screening, medical assessment, substance use assessment, care coordination and planning, education on medication use, relapse prevention, support for an individual’s self-management and referral to appropriate services. Conducts motivational interviewing to patients in crisis, provides patient, family, and community education regarding OUD, recover resources, and overdose prevention. Performs on-the-spot care coordination for MAT clinic patients to connect them to community resources during walk-in clinic hours and appointments. Performs data collection and entry to support grant, quality improvement, and consortium initiatives. *Documents patient encounters, including HPI, exam, assessment, and plan, working in partnership with the provider. Maintains complete and accurate records. Participates in quality improvement programs and initiatives. Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned.*Essential Job Function

Required Education and Experience
Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations
Current and unrestricted Washington State Registered Nurse license. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, required within 60 days of hire.Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of nursing principles and procedures; knowledge and skill in techniques of good patient care. Ability to cultivate effective working relationships and work in collaboration with providers, other health care professionals, managers, and patients. Professional and effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain accurate documentation and records. Proficient in the use of current technology, including Microsoft Office products. Ability to learn and effectively use electronic medical records and other systems and equipment.Physical Requirements
