RN Step Down

We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Step Down Unit to join our Cardiac Stepdown 6W department in Mason City, Iowa. This role is ideal for a dedicated Step Down Travel RN who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care.

Schedule & Shift Details:

• Shift: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM (12-hour night shifts)
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week (36 hours total)
• Rotation: Every third weekend & every other holiday

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care by implementing and monitoring individualized care plans.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, reporting changes promptly.
• Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team for coordinated, efficient care.
• Carry out physician and nursing orders accurately and efficiently.
• Coordinate discharge planning needs with patients, families, and the care team.
• Apply critical thinking, sound judgment, and clinical expertise in high-stress situations.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and follow Standard Precautions.

Requirements:

• Active RN License (state or compact)
• Minimum 2 years of Step Down or Progressive Care Unit experience
• Strong critical thinking and patient assessment skills
• Ability to work independently in high-pressure situations
• Travel RN experience preferred
