RN Supervisor

Purpose:

To oversee the administration and coordination of medical services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to enable them to maintain optimal health and wellbeing.

Qualifications:

• •Must successfully complete the required pre-employment Background and Drug Screenings
  •Must possess a valid Driver's License which meets company standards for approved driver status
  •Must possess a current and valid Registered Nurse license
  •A bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred
  •Must possess strong clinical assessment and nursing skills
  •Must demonstrate strong supervisory experience
  •Must possess basic computer skills with exposure to Electronic Health Records systems
  •Strong verbal and written communication skills
  •Experience working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities is preferred

Essential Functions:

• •Supervises nurses assigned to them, and provides constructive feedback and training through positive interactions, role modeling, and mentoring
  •Schedules nursing staff according to organizational need
  •Responsible for familiarizing themselves and their teams with organization’s policies and procedures
  •Coordinates and oversees health services according to the individual’s plan ensuring each individual’s optimal health and wellbeing
  •Creates a positive interacting team which collaboratively works with all disciplines
  •Participates in training and development of nursing staff as directed by Director of Health Services
  •Ensures all documentation is completed according to regulatory requirements
  •Acts as liaison between hospitals and other medical professionals advocating for least restrictive measures and protection of rights
  •Performs all professional duties within the scope of licensure and in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act
  •Performs regular evaluation and feedback of nurses who report to them, including formal annual performance evaluation
  •Ensures payroll process are completed for their team members, including time corrections, approvals, vacation and sick time requests
  •Collaborates with other RN Supervisors, management and other departments to provide
  •Proficiency in the English language (both written and verbal) is required as this job entails direct care of adults and children receiving services. Employees are required to communicate, both orally and in writing, with staff and others regarding medical care, supports, and services. This requirement includes the ability to effectively communicate in English including medical terminology.
