Rodent Control Specialist

Critter Control of San Jose seeks a Rodent Control Specialist to identify and solve rodent problems for homeowners and businesses throughout Silicon Valley. You’ll conduct detailed property inspections, develop rodent exclusion strategies, and present tailored service options to clients.

This position blends technical fieldwork with customer interaction and sales opportunities. Candidates with backgrounds in pest control, insulation, construction, or home services sales will thrive in this role.

What You’ll Do

• Inspect properties and identify rodent activity and access points
• Propose and implement exclusion, sealing, and sanitation solutions
• Educate customers on prevention and maintenance
• Safely use ladders, power tools, and safety equipment
• Document services and manage route schedules efficiently

Essential Qualifications

• Valid CA driver’s license, clean record (NO DUIs ever)
• Able to lift 50+ lbs and work in confined spaces
• Strong communication and upselling ability
• Pass background check, drug screening, and employment physical
• Familiar with San Jose and surrounding areas

Professional Requirements

• Obtain CA Dept. of Fish & Wildlife Trapping Certification within 90 days
• Complete safety and Cal/OSHA compliance training
• Manage daily routes, reports, and customer scheduling

Preferred Backgrounds

• 1+ years pest control, insulation experience, construction, handyman, or home repair experience
• Sales or customer service experience — ability to explain and close on solutions
• Experience with attic/crawlspace remediation or exclusion work is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, optional overtime available
• Pay: $23–$26/hour + commission-based sales bonuses
