This job has a $250 Bonus after 6 months of employment and $1000 after 12 months of employment. Sunshine Disposal & Recycling has an opening for a full time Refuse Service Truck Driver in our Addy, WA business unit. Job duties include operation of roll off style dump trucks, sometimes with a trailer, in commercial locations. Basic computer literacy is required, and OJT is provided for industry specific programs. Class A CDL, Air Brake Certificate and valid DOT medical card are required. Applicants must meet insurability requirements and comply with US DOT drug screening rules. Two (2) years Class A CDL driving experience required.
Sunshine operates a modern fleet and all vehicles use cameras with forward and in cab event recording as well as on board GPS location technology.
This is a full time, day shift job Monday-Thursday and shift time is 4:00am-1:00pm. Starting wage is $26.68 per hour, and this job has wage bumps of fifty cents ($.50) per hour at 6 months, 12 months and 18 months of employment as well as annual COLA beginning in 2027. Job Duties/Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential duties/responsibilities listed below.
1. Arrives to work on time and receives paperwork and tablet data for daily route. Conducts pre-trip inspection of the truck and completes DVIR form to make sure everything is operating correctly, and maintenance is not necessary.
2. Drives truck to complete route within the District daily. Uses tablet to document any service issues/, container damage or poor conditions at customer sites. Empties roll-off boxes and returns to customers or to yard as required.
3. Communicates effectively with the Operations Supervisor and Dispatch to ensure that there are no dispatch issues or issues with the route for the particular day.
4. Returns truck without box on boom at the end of the day.
5. Conducts a Post trip inspection of the truck daily day and informs the mechanics of any maintenance areas necessary.
6. Submits route sheet information containing extra charges and other customer notes each day using the tablet as necessary.
7. Attends all necessary meetings as scheduled including all skill training and safety meetings.
8. This job may include cross-training for operation of front and side load style trucks.
9. Performs special projects.
10. Performs all other duties as assigned.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the minimum qualifications listed below. These qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform this job.
Education/Experience: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have:
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Minimum of two years CDL experience is required, five years is preferred.
Certificates/Licenses: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have:
· Class A CDL license required with no Air Brake Restriction
· Valid DOT Medical Certificate required
· Manual transmission endorsement required
Must meet insurance carrier requirements for driving
Physical Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:
· Regularly( 6+ hours per day) sit, stand, walk, pull/push, grasp, fine finger manipulation and reach out and up.
· Occasionally (1-3 hours per day) climb, lift(up to 50 pounds), stoop/crouch, crawl, carry.
Clearly see 20+ feet, with or without corrective lenses and differentiate between colors
