Rolling Stock Mechanic- St. Maries, Id

The Rolling Stock Mechanic is responsible for repairing and maintaining all rolling stock at our St. Maries Complex that is beneficial to the functional operation of our plywood and lumber mills. This position will be expected to work in a variety of areas, i.e. outdoors, shop work, layout tasks, electrical systems, removal, installation, and maintenance of transmissions, engines, differentials, welding, trouble shooting and preventative maintenance.

The hourly range for this position is $33.14/hour - $39.23/hour depending on experience.

Requirements:

   Troubleshoot problems, making economical and endurable repairs.

  
  


• 
  

  Performs electrical testing.

  
  


• 
  

  Uses hand and power tools to change parts and fabricate items.

  
  


• 
  

  Welds broken components and fabricates parts as needed.

  
  


• 
  

  Services vehicles including oil changes, greasing, and changing filters.

  
  


• 
  

  Fabricates and repairs non-mobile equipment on a complex-wide basis.

  
  


• 
  

  Troubleshoots and repairs electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, and drive trains.

  
  


• 
  

  Operates equipment to test repairs and diagnose problems.

  
  


• 
  

  Fabricates materials for equipment.

  
  


• 
  

  Changes tires.

  
  


• 
  

  Performs steam cleaning.

  
  


• 
  

  Operates jacks, forklift, hoist and other equipment to move heavy items/materials.

  
  


• 
  

  Must be able to work independently, use sound judgement, organize and prioritize.

  
  


• 
  

  Must be able to work safely and productively under somewhat stressful conditions and handle multiple tasks at the same time.

  Job will require physical activity such as lifting items up to 80 pounds. All lifts over 50 pounds are assisted when/where possible.

  Prior experience working on computers, work orders, record keeping, forklifts, loaders, log handling machines preferred.
