Roof Coating Technician

We are seeking skilled and reliable Roof Coating Technicians (Roofers) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, applying, and finishing roof coatings on commercial and residential buildings. You will work under the supervisionof the Roof Coating Supervisor to ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and according to manufacturer warranty guidelines. This position requires hands-on roofing experience, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols.

This position is responsible for:

• Prepare roofsurfaces by cleaning, repairing, and priming as needed for proper coating adhesion.
• Apply various roof coatings (acrylic, silicone, polyurethane, elastomeric, etc.) using rollers, brushes, and spray equipment.
• Ensure even and thorough application of coatings to meet project specifications and manufacturer standards.
• Conduct touch-ups and ensure final coating meets quality control guidelines
• Follow all OSHA safety guidelines, including proper use of fall protection and PPE.
• Set up and maintain a safe work environment, ensuring tools and materials are handled properly.
• Participate in safety meetings and adhere to company safety protocols.
• Identify and repair minor roof issues before coating, such as cracks, leaks, or weak spots.
• Assist in post-application inspections to ensure proper adherence and quality finish.
• Maintain and clean tools, equipment, and worksite daily.
• Work closely with the Roof Coating Supervisor and team members to complete projects on schedule.
• Communicate effectively with crew members to ensure smooth workflow and problem resolution.
• Report project progress, issues, and material needs to the supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Requirements & Qualifications:
• Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years in roofing, roof coatings, or a related trade preferred.
• Knowledgeable in: Roofcoating systems, waterproofing techniques, and application methods.
• Certifications (preferred but not required): OSHA 10/30, Fall Protection, Manufacturer-Specific Training.

Skills:

• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently
• Comfortable working at heights and on various roofing surfaces.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and handle roo?ng materials.
• Comfortable with extended standing, kneeling, bending and climbing ladders.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
