Job Description - Roofing Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Roofing Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various roofing systems, including shingle, metal, tile, and flat roofs. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect roofs to assess damage or determine repair/replacement needs
Install, repair, and replace roofing systems using appropriate materials and tools
Remove old roofing materials and prepare surfaces for new installations
Apply waterproofing materials, sealants, and coatings to ensure roof integrity
Cut roofing materials to fit around obstructions such as vents, chimneys, and skylights
Install flashing and other components to ensure watertight seals
Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
Adhere to safety regulations and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Maintain clean and organized job sites and company equipment
Communicate clearly with supervisors and clients regarding job progress or issues

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Proven experience as a roofing technician or similar role
Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
Knowledge of roofing materials, tools, and installation methods
Strong physical fitness and manual dexterity
Basic math and measurement skills
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (preferred)
OSHA or other relevant safety certifications (a plus)
