Job Description - Room Service & Minibar Attendant



ROOM SERVICE & MINI BAR ATTENDANT: The Room Service & Mini Bar Attendant is responsible for providing a pleasant in-room dining experience by taking guest food orders, delivering them in a timely manner, and ensuring attentive service. This role also includes maintaining in-room mini bar inventory, processing charges accurately, and restocking items as needed. 


SCHEDULE: Primarily mornings. However, must be able to work flexible schedule, weekends and holidays, based on business demands.


WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum 1-year serving experience, equivalent, or a combination of education and experience. Minimum of one-year customer service experience in a previous position, where the primary job duty is direct customer service, is required. 


EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent.


 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:


Knowledge



  • Understand hotel function and guest profiles.

  • Knowledge of local area including restaurants, landmarks, shopping centers and or local attraction.

  • Knowledge about spirits, cocktails, wine and more.


Skills



  • Business communication skills both verbal and written in English.

  • Interpersonal skills such as listening, smiling, relating, asking questions, teamwork, etc.

  • Have the skill to manage multiple tasks at a time, maintain focus and structure under pressure.

  • Have the skill to resolve conflicts with ease and professionalism to ensure maximum guest and associate satisfaction.


Abilities



  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with both associates and guests to build trust and loyalty.

  • Ability to maintain consistent positive energy, self-motivation, and passion for hospitality.

  • Ability to keep hotel sensitive information confidential such as guest profiles, credit card information, etc.

  • Ability to learn new software and computer systems.

  • Ability to easily adapt to various situations, constant change, handle pressure and remain composed and focused. 


 


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Combination of standing, walking and moving for 8+ hours. Ability to walk around the hotel, carry trays, push and pull carts, go up and down stairs, stoop, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 100 lbs.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bilingual or Multilingual

  • Micros and or other Food & Beverage Software Systems

  • Prior Emotional Intelligence Training

  • RBS- Alcohol Awareness Certification

  • CA Food Handlers Certificate

We are looking for someone who can easily engage and adapt to our unique culture. We are looking for an experienced, outgoing and knowledgeable Room Service & Minibar Attendant to join our family! The Room Service & Minibar Attendant is responsible for creating a pleasant room dining experience for guests, memorize food & beverage menus, learn about the guests’ food and beverage preferences, allergies, and recommend menu items and offer alternatives. Additional responsibilities include maintaining in guest room mini bar inventory, processing charges and restocking accordingly. The Room Service & Minibar Attendant is an integral part of our team and works side by side with managers and associates on a day-to-day basis to anticipate and meet guest’s needs. We are looking for someone who will help us maintain our high quality standards, who will help develop new ideas and ways to improve our guest satisfaction scores.
