Rope Technician 5


We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Rope Access Technician 3 to join our team. This role involves performing maintenance, inspections, and repairs in hard-to-reach areas using rope access techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and be comfortable working at heights in various environments, including construction sites. Involves overseeing and performing advanced rope access work in various industries, such as construction, inspection, and maintenance. Level 5 technicians is a senior professional in rope access, typically with advanced skills, leadership experience, and the ability to manage complex operations. This role combines technical rope access expertise with supervisory and safety leadership responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities:






    • Lead Rope Access Operations: Oversee and direct rope access work for complex projects, including high-rise buildings, bridges, offshore platforms, wind turbines, and industrial structures 




    • Equipment Management: Rig, deploy, and maintain advanced rope access systems (ropes, harnesses, anchors, pulleys) ensuring all gear is safe and fit for purpose before use 




    • Inspections & Maintenance: Conduct detailed visual, photographic, and technical inspections of structural components, coatings, and systems, documenting findings in comprehensive reports 




    • Trade-Specific Tasks: Perform specialized trade work such as welding, grinding, concrete repair, sealant application, painting, or electrical/mechanical installations at height 




    • Safety Leadership: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, work plans, and risk assessments (e.g., IRATA, SPRAT, ANSI Z359.14)




    • Pre-Job Planning: Participate in Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), toolbox talks, and pre-job briefings to ensure all hazards and emergency procedures are understood 




    • Rescue & Emergency Response: Lead or coordinate rope access rescues and first aid procedures when required 




    • Team Coordination: Supervise and train junior rope technicians, coordinate with other trades, and ensure efficient project completion 




    • Documentation & Compliance: Log all rope access work, report incidents, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company safety standards




    •   Continuous Improvement: Update skills and knowledge through ongoing training, refresher courses, and participation in industry safety initiatives 



    • Other duties as assigned.

        Qualifications Required for this Position:


        Education – no minimum education requirements.


        Experience:  4+ years of Journeyman level experience.


        Certification/Licenses: ASNT Level II certification, NCCER, a Valid Driver’s License, and a TWIC Card.

        Work may be performed in industrial and construction environments with exposure to weather conditions, temperature extremes, noise, dust, fumes, moving equipment, vibration, and other site-specific hazards. Employees must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and meet all customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness-for-duty requirements applicable to the position.


        Must be able to perform all job duties while maintaining a constant commitment to safety, quality, and productivity expectations.
